Antique Autos series:

Heritage Museum in Sandwich, MA, has a beautiful antique car collection. When I called and asked for permission to paint on site, it was granted as long as I didn’t interfere with the viewing public. This painting heightened my fascination with antique autos. At that time Heritage was closed during the winter. The director allowed me to return for the next two winters and paint a series on cars. The curator and the auto detailers would frequently stop and share the history of the various models. For instance, Gary Cooper raced his Dusenberg and had it re-engineered to make it more aerodynamic and painted red and black. It was eventually returned to this beautiful color that you see.
